On Friday August 29 Spanish Fork went over to Timpview for a preseason game. We just came off a lose to the defending 5A state champs and were now facing the defending 4A state champs. Needless to say it was a very long night. When the final buzzer went off we had lost 57-12. Our defense struggled and our offense only had a few bright spots. At the end of the 1st quarter the score was 15-12 for Timpview. I really thought we had a chance going in and at that point thought we had a shot at winning. That's when the wheels fell off. Timpview outscored us 35-0 in the 2nd quarter. When we went in at half time the score was 50-12.
I was proud of the o-line because they fought the entire game. Even though we didn't score in the 2nd half we put together a couple of drives that ate up some clock. After watching the game film there is a lot that we have to fix. It's hard because we only have two days of good work and that time is split with the d-line. This has been one of my biggest adjustments is trying to get everything in with such little time.
I was really disappointed with the Timpview coaching staff. They kept their starters in the entire game. I think they were upset that last year we came back and they only won us by 2, 30-28. All year we heard from them that no one does that to us and they were going to make us pay. I realize wanting to beat us and beat us big, but I really feel that if they could have put up 100 points on us they would have. It's one thing to run a score up in college or the pro's but to do it against high school kids is another thing. I just hope when we go out this week that kids are excited to go and look forward to Payson.

Sorry I missed you game. But I will make it to the next one. Just one game at a time. I'm sure your kids are grateful for a good coaching staff. They are lucky to have you!
